Over the course of 2016, 40 oil and gas fields, as well as 60 fields of solid minerals have been discovered in Russia, the Minister of Natural Resources, Sergey Donskoy told reporters.
“According to preliminary data, 40 hydrocarbon deposits have been discovered in 2016. The average amount of deposits (summing up C1+C2 categories) is 1.7 million tons as regards recoverable oil reserves, and 14.5 billion cubic meters of gas,” - he said.
“The largest ones is Nertsetinskoye oil filed, located in the Nenets Autonomous District, which is estimated at 17.4 million tons of recoverable oil reserves… and oil and Verkhneicherskoye gas field, located in the Irkutsk region, with recoverable oil reserves of 11.4 million tons and 52.6 billion cubic meters of gas,” the Minister added.
