Russian Gazprom and Chinese CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation) signed an agreement to study the geological and technical possibilities of creating an underground gas storage facility in China, according to the Russian company.




This decision was taken at the meeting of the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNPC, Wang Yilin.

Alexey Miller and Wang Yilin discussed the results of joint elaboration of projects in the field of gas storage and signed an agreement on geological-technical study of the creation of underground storage facilities. In accordance with the document, the geological, technological and economic conditions of the facility’s establishment on the basis of field Sensing 2-1 (Heilongjiang province) will be assessed,” the company’s statement reads.
