The head of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation of Russia, Alexey Likhachev, during his working visit in Tokyo, plans to discuss with the Japanese government the issues of further cooperation.
In particular, the matter concerns a cooperation in damage control and recovery in the aftermath of Fukushima accident, Rosatom’s director general, Alexey Likhachev, told TASS news agency on Monday.
Mr. Likhachev specified that the corporation intended to reach agreements with Japanese companies on specific projects at Fukushima nuclear power plants.
“The challenge that the Japanese government faces is to carry out elimination of the object with the maximum economic efficiency. Rosatom is able to do this, we have gained a very wide experience in the field of nuclear facilities’ decommissioning, we have technologies and specialists”, he stressed.
