Rosseti, a Russian power company and one of the world’s largest energy network operators, proposes to build a power transmission line to Mongolia as an alternative to the construction of hydroelectric power plant.

The line is intended to transmit 1 GW to Mongolia. This statement was made by the head of Rosseti, Oleg Budargin, at the international conference titled “Integration Of Energy Systems In Eurasia: Prospects For Development Of Global Energy Union And Creation Of Silk Road Economic Belt”.

“We offer them to build a power line that starts in Khakassia, Tyva, VL-500, and which will go into areas of Mongolia, pass through the territory of Mongolia and will return to us through the territory of Buryatia. Thus we will strengthen the connection between Siberia and the Far East,” Budargin said.
