Negotiations between the presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdogan, held in Sochi, turned out to be very successful, almost all trade restrictions between the two countries have been removed, the Turkish Economy Minister, Nihat Zeybekci, told reporters on Thursday.

Earlier, Mr. Zeybekci said that Turkey had lifted restrictions on imports of wheat from Russia.

“Yesterday's talks (between the presidents of Russia and Turkey – editor’s note) were very successful, we have almost returned to 2015. The barriers have been completely removed in six areas. Almost all issues have been resolved. The only one left is the restriction on import of our tomatoes, but Russia claims that it is able to produce them itself. Russia is encouraging construction of greenhouses and is going to protect its tomatoes trade by customs duties,” Nihat Zeybekci said in an interview with NTV TV channel.
