In May, Kazakhstan refused to allow innovative cars of foreign administrations in its railroads, Kommersant reports.
Astana has explained this step by the non-availability of infrastructure, however, Kommersant’s sources consider it a response to the refusal of JSC Russian Railways to let 5,400 innovative cars, which are made in China and purchased by Kazakhstan in 2011-2012, in its railroad network.
On April 26, KTZ-Freight Transport, a company of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, sent to the Russian Railways a telegram about the unavailability of infrastructure for the running of innovative cars with a load of more than 23.5 tons per axle. As a result, on May 4, JSC Russian Railways banned the preparation and delivering of such railway cars to a line in Kazakhstan, or the transit through the country.
