The Russian Railways’ investments into development of Northern railways will total 8,6 bln roubles in 2016, RIA Novosti reports.
On Friday, the head of the Northern Railways, Sergey Kobzev, held a press conference devoted to the 13th anniversary of The Russian Railways estanblishment.
“Over the course of 13 years, about 160 billion roubles have been invested in all areas, infrastructure and rolling equipment, development of Northern railways. In 2016, 8,6 billion roubles will be allocated to the Northern railways’ facilities. This mostly concerns infrastructure projects,” Kobzev said.
He added that at the moment modernization of one of the country’s largest sorting stations in the city of Vologda is underway, as well as upgrading of a line connecting Belomorsk and Oboserskaya towns.
