According to the press-office of the Russian Railways (RZhD JSC), the reconstruction of the smaller railway stations to be used in the transport service of the Football World Championship 2018 will complete by May, 2018 and will cost 1.3 bln roubles (≈$21.7m)




38 smaller railway stations and 89 platforms will be repaired and equipped with navigation systems, 5 railway stations will be equipped with additional transport security systems.

The RZhD company will allocate 1.36 bln roubles for this purpose.

Special attention will be paid to the security standards and availability of railway stations for low mobility passengers, a representative of the company said. He stressed that the historical look of the buildings of cultural heritage will be preserved (in Tver, Bologoe, Kuntsevo, Zelenogorsk, etc.)

To remind you, railway objects in 11 cities of Russia where the matches will take place will serve the WC 2018. These are Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Saransk, Samara, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don and Sochi, and smaller objects along the routes for participants and fans.
