The Affiliate of the Russian Railways (RZhD), “RZhD International” JSC, completed the reconstruction of a railway infrastructure section Resnik-Vreoci in Serbia, according to the RZhD press-office.
The completion of the reconstruction of this section provides for the renewal of the railway connection between Belgrad (Serbia) and Bar (Chernogoria).
This will provide for the transport accessibility of the Adriatic resorts for the Serbians and gives an opportunity of regular coal supplies from the mines of Kolubar to the power generating stations of Serbia. In the course of the reconstruction of the 35 km long section, the Biela Rieka tunnel was modernized. Due to updating the speed of the trains on this section grew from 50 to 90 km per hour.
To remind you, the Russian company of RZhD has implemented the contract for construction and reconstruction of the railway infrastructure objects in Serbia since 2014. It was concluded withing the intergovernmental agreement on the allocation of a $800 m Russian export credit to Serbia. The total sum of the contract is $941m.
