According to the head of the Department for Development of New Territories of Moscow, Vladimir Zhidkin, the city authorities intend to extend the metro in the Troitsk and Novomoskovsk districts, increasing its length by 70 kilometers.
In particular, 20 metro stations are planned to be built. By the end of 2018, two metro lines will be put into operation in the new territories of Moscow, which will be an extension of the Kalininsk-Solntsevo and Sokolnicheskaya metro lines. A few months later, it is planned to open Rasskazovka metro station, and by the end of the year, the construction of another four stations will be completed.
Also, on the basis of Stolbovo metro station, a large transfer hub will be established, connecting the Sokolnicheskaya metro line and a new one, which will go from the Moscow Central Ring.
