French President Emmanuel Macron has commented on a controversial statement made by US leader Donald Trump about Germany's dependence on Russia in the field of energy supplies, Russia Today reports.
According to Emmanuel Macron, who appeared at a press conference within the framework of the NATO summit in Brussels, member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance are capable of making their own decisions on such projects as the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. As he put it, such decisions are taken sovereignly.
At the same time, the French President has stressed that Donald Trump — as the leader of the allied state — also has the right to share his opinion on strategic issues.
