Russian specialists are helping to repair obsolete objects at Latakia airfield and Tartus sustainment center.
“Vedomosti” reported on this, referring to the Ministry of Defense and stressing that the installation of new equipment and the repair of a runway is not a prelude to the deployment of the Russian military, as has been suggested in the West. The condition of the runway did not allow relief planes to land and so deliver humanitarian cargo. Delivery and security is being provided by the Russian military, which is not taking part in combat activities.
