On December 15th, the RF President Vladimir Putin, via a phone call, gave the order to connect the second line of the energy bridge from the Krasnodar area to Crimea.

As the Kremlin press office reports, the President said that, “our main task is to provide another two energy chains to the Crimean peninsula by the summer in order to deliver another 800 MW to Crimea”.

To remind you, the first stage of the powerful electricity transmission line between the Russian and Crimean power systems was launched at the beginning of December. It took place after two electricity pylons blew up on November 22nd, which led to 1.9m Crimean citizens being without electricity.

Another two electric power lines will be laid in April and May of 2016, which will allow for the delivery of a further 800 MW of electrical power. Thus in 2016 the Republic will have 1300 MW at its disposal, including the capacities of the local generators. This will more than compensate for the energy formerly delivered from Ukraine.
