On the 23rd of March, the Vakhitov district court of Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, sentenced the son of the former Minister of Justice of Tatarstan, Ildar Kurmanov, to 6 years of imprisonment in a standard regime penalty colony. He was found guilty of fraud and of causing 47m roubles of damage.
As Construction.ru was told by the republican press office, Mr Kurmanov was charged with fraud, money laundering, premeditated bankruptcy, illicit acts in the course of bankruptcy, misappropriation of funds and abuse of authority.
The last is due to the fact that he had previously worked as the head of the Legal Department of the regional branch of the Ministry of Energy.
