This year, work at the construction site of a giant railway terminal will start on the Trans-Baikal Territory. The new facility is intended for the exporting of 50 m tons of Russian grain to China.

This is what the director general of the “Siberian Grain Terminal”, Karen Ovsepyan, said within the framework of a round table in Novosibirsk on the 24th of April. The company will undertake the implementation of this ambitious, large-scale project.

According to Mr Ovsepyan, the terminal’s construction on the Trans-Baikal territory will allow for the avoidance of grain transportation by sea and unnecessary throughput in the ports. The region will export cereals, legumes and oil crops grown in Siberia to China.

The object is scheduled to be put into operation by 2018.
