The Governor of the Chelyabinsk region, Boris Dubrovsky, has held a meeting within the framework of the construction and reconstruction being carried out in the center of the region's main city, Chelyabinsk, as part of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China & South Africa) and SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) summits.
The construction of underground passages, a 50-storey luxury congress hall and the reconstruction of the Miass River Embankment have been approved, the regional press office told Construction.ru.
It is expected that by 2019 the city’s airport will have been reconstructed, expanded twofold and will be capable of servicing approximately 600 people per hour.
