Chinese investors have confirmed their intention to build a waterflood plant at lake Baikal with a capacity of up to 2 m cubic meters of water per year.
The project’s realization guarantees full protection of lake Bailkal ecology, the manager of projects in a mineral resources sector at Buryatia Republic’s Regional Development Fund, Konstantin Botoev, said on the “Govorit Moskva” radio.
It will be only Chinese business, that will invest in the facility’s construction. At present, the entrepreneurs are making preparations to acquire the land plot for the construction site.
According to the plan, a modern plant for extraction and filling of drinking water will be erected at lake Baikal. In addition, a customs and logistics unit at the boundary with Mongolia is scheduled to be constructed as well. Moreover, a new transportation enterprise is to be approved.
The total amount of investment is 1,26 bln roubles.
