Salini Impregilo, an Italian construction company, will build Rogunskaya Hydro Power Plant in Tajikistan for $3,9 bln, the press office of the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, said on Friday.
According to the statement, an agreement on cooperation between JSC Rogunskaya Hydro Power Plant and Salini Impregilo S.p.A was signed on the 1st of July. A total capacity of first two aggregates of the station will amount to 800 MW.
As a reference, the works at the construction site have been repeatedly delayed due to some differences with the authorities of Uzbekistan on this issue. The Uzbek party believes that the dam break might occur in case of an earthquake.
