Private investors and the authorities of the Russian city of Chelyabinsk have concluded agreements, according to which the number of hotel rooms will be increased from the present-day 2,500 to 5 – 6,000 by 2020, the press office of the city administration announced on Monday.
According to the official, the contracts provide for construction of 24 new facilities needed for organization of a summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS, which is scheduled for 2020.
“The matter is that the summit requirements imply that the host country should have at least 5,000 – 6,000 hotel rooms. At present, there are a bit more than 2,500 hotel rooms in Chelyabinsk. Thus, the construction of new hotel complexes will let us provide comfortable accommodation of official delegations and guests of the summit”, - said the representative of the city’s press office.
