Russian PM Medvedev approves investment project for Don hydrosite construction

Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, signed a decree regarding the investment project for construction of the Bagayevsk hydrosite located on the Don River.




According to the statement published on the governmental website, the project implementation will provide a solution to the shipping traffic problem on the Don River, one of the major rivers of Russia.

The project will be financed by means of funds reassignment within the state program entitled “Transportation System development”. At the same time, the total volume of the state program’s funding will remain unchanged.

Governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, announced recently that a plan for actions aimed at enhancement of Tsymlyanskoye water storage basin had to be implemented until the end of 2020.

In accordance with this plan, the Bagayevsk hydrosite is to be built, as well as tens of kilometers of networks routing of water supply lines in Volgodonsk and waste-water disposal system in Tsymlyansk are to be reconstructed, new sewage facilities to be constructed.

The project, developed by the Russian government, is estimated at over 42 bln roubles.
