Within the framework of funding of the construction of Bushehr NPP’s second phase, Iran will make the first advance payment to Russia at the end of this year, director of JSC Atomstroyexport, which is the general contractor of the NPP building project, Suren Ambartsumyan, told reporters on Monday.
According to him, the first earthworks at the construction site of the second power unit are scheduled to start at the end of 2017. For this purpose, primary engineering documentation will be prepared, as well as technical part of the project and the construction base will be agreed.
We should remind you that a ground-breaking ceremony for two new power units took part at the construction site of the existing Bushehr NPP on the 10th of September.
Iran and Russia signed a contract for construction of two Bushehr NPP’s power units in November 2014. Implementation of “Bushehr-2” project is expected to last 10 years.
