Russia approves 25% sale of Saint Petersburg’s airport to Qatar investors

Russian Governmental Commission for Foreign Investments approved on Friday a deal selling about 25% shares in managing company of “Pulkovo” airport in Saint Petersburg to Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the head of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, Igor Artemiev, told reporters.




As it was reported earlier, at the end of July, Fraport AG, an international airport operator, announced a sale to Qatar Investment Authority of 10% of its shares in Thalita Trading Ltd (TTL), which is a holding company of VVSS company managing “Pulkovo” airport.

According to Fraport statement, subsequently, the Qatar fund planned to buy out shares of other VVSS’s partners as well to increase its stake in Thalita up to 24,99%.

The group of companies, which acts as a concessioner of “Pulkovo” airport reconstruction, apart from Fraport includes VTB Bank with over 50% of shares and Greek Horizon Air Investments.
