Bidzina Ivanishvili, a Georgian businessman and former Prime Minister of Georgia, is seeking the ways to revive relations with Abkhazia by means of implementation of infrastructure project there.

Over the course of his meeting with reporters on Monday, Bidzina Ivanishvili said that construction project has been launched on the 26th of September in a village located between Georgia and Abkhazia.

The highest-class hotel will be built there with financing of the Co-Investment Fund. Behind the hotel, a botanical garden will be created, which will be financed by Kartu Fund.

“I’d like to propose to do the same for our Abkhazian brothers and, in case they wish it, to build such hotel beyond the separation strip, as well as to extend a botanical garden there,” said Ivanishvili.

According to him, the proceeds could be allocated to the development of local infrastructure.

“By doing that, I’d like to contribute to reviving of our (Georgian – Abkhazian) relations,” added ex-PM of Georgia.
