Blanket solar coverage of DP World offices and warehouses in Dubai will become the largest rooftop installation in the Middle East, Global Construction Review reports.
According to DP World statement, 88,000 rooftop solar panels will be installed in the Jebel Ali Free Zone and Mina Rashid Port. This installation will generate enough power to supply with electricity 3,000 households. Apart from that, the devise will prevent discharge in the air of 22,000 tones of carbon annually.
Demand for electric energy of Jebel Ali Free Zone, which is one of the world’s largest special economic areas, will be 40% met by operation of this installation. DP World expects that this devise will help Dubai cut energy demand by 30% by the year 2030.
