Major Japanese hotel operator, Hotel Okura company, considers building a hotel in Vladivostok, a big city located in the Russian Far East, the Primorsky region’s administration announced on Wednesday.

The details have been discussed at a meeting of the Primorye regional authorities with the representatives of Japanese business circles, including such companies as Hotel Okura, Asia Pacific Legal Office and Owl Hong Kong Ltd.

The parties discussed operation conditions within the framework of Vladivostok’s Free Port, hotel services’ market expectations, as well as prospects of tourist sector development in the region.

“Our chain has several brands and a peculiarity – our proper restaurants: each Okura hotel as Japanese, Chinese and European restaurant, what we consider to be an important feature. Our slogan is “The best service and food”. We are interested in building a hotel in Vladivostok and we are ready to examine appropriate construction sites,” said Toshihiro Ogita, president of Hotel Okura Co.
