Solar power plant put in operation in Russian Far North

A solar power plant with a capacity of 36 kW is put in operation in Verkhnyaya Amga village located in Russian northern region of Yakutia. The new facility will let not to use cost demanding diesel-powered generation.




The project has been implemented by Sakhaenergo JSC. According to the plan, solar power generation will amount to 30,600 kW per hour. Solar panels will meet the demands of the village dwellers over the course of the day.

According to the company’s experts’ estimates, the solar power plan will allow to annually save over 18,8 tons of expensive diesel fuel, what in money terms is equivalent to over 800,000 roubles.

All plant’s equipment is adapted to the use under conditions of northern climate.
