“My Baikal”, an Irkutsk regional ecologist organization, emphasize the need to build disposal facilities on the shores of Lake Baikal, in the Olkhonsky region, as soon as possible.
The facilities are to be erected at the expense of the federal targeted program entitled “Protection of Lake Baikal and social and economic development of the territory for the years 2012 – 2020.”
As director of the ecologist organization, Nadezhda Nikolaeva, said, first of all, the disposal facilities are needed in Yelantsy, Imel Kutul and Kuzhir villages.
“We have already created an expert group, which included technologists, lawyers, businessmen, representatives of other public organizations ready to take part in the project,” added Nadezhda Nikolaeva.
