Commissioning of “Chinese” automobile factory near Tula delayed for 2018

Building Chinese Great Wall Motors, a phase one of the automobile factory’s construction project, will be completed in 2018, the Economic Development Minister of the Tula region, Grogory Lavrukhin, told reporters on Tuesday.




The facility will be located on the territory of Uzlovaya industrial park in the Tula region.

“At present, all positive conclusions of the expertise and building permission have been received, temporary roads have been constructed and the existing one have been repaired, electricity supply systems have been built. Construction of an administrative and business complex is started,” added Grogory Lavrukhin.

The reasons for reschedule of terms of the project implementation haven’t been specified yet.

As it was reported earlier, commissioning of the phase one of the factory with the capacity of 80,000 vehicles per year was scheduled for 2017. After the phase two is completed in 2020, the production capacity will reach 150,000 vehicles per year.
