In 2017, the Saint Petersburg authorities will allocate 2,2 billion roubles to preservation of cultural heritage sites, the city governor Georgy Poltavchenko said on Wednesday over the course of the presentation of the city budget for 2017.
Speaking in the city legislature, Georgy Poltavchenko said that 147 events targeted at preservation of 63 cultural heritage sites of Saint Petersburg.
Thus, restoration works in Smolny and Troitsk cathedrals, Buddhist pagoda, Mosque Cathedral are going on. Apart from that, construction of new cultural facilities is planned. For that purpose, a targeted investment program for 2017 envisages 903 million roubles.
A Cultural Center will also be erected in the Krasnoselsk district of Saint Petersburg.
