Iran starts financing of Bushehr NPP’s new power units

The authorities of Iran allocated 30 trillion Iranian tomans, that is approximately $8,5 billion, to construction of two new power units at Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in the country.




The first tranche of funding will be transferred within two weeks, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, told Tasnim news agency.

“Iran sets to financing the project. The first tranche will be transferred by Iranian Central Bank within the next two weeks,” informed Ali Akbar Salehi, who also holds a position of the Republic’s Vice President.

On the 10th of September, 2016, Iran and Russia embarked on construction of the NPP’s second phase in Iranian province of Bushehr.
