Deputy PM determines time of building Russian base on Moon

A Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Rogozin, announced that Russian base on the Moon is scheduled to be built by Russian cosmonauts until the year 2030.

This is what Russian high-ranked official in charge of defense industry said today in an interview to Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper. According to him, the construction of a permanently operating station on the Moon is a very interesting task.

However, the country needs to make a technological breakthrough, in order to realize this idea. In particular, a super-heavy rocket delivering large module with a re-usable landing section has to be designed and constructed.

Dmitry Rogozin stressed that Russian government is ready to tackle that landmark task, first of all, because the country needs new technological capacities.
