Crimea found investors to build waste incineration plant

Investors are ready to invest funds in the construction of a waste recycling plant in the Republic of Crimea, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Gennady Naraev, told reporters on Monday. He added that the project might be implemented as early as in 2017.

Earlier, Presidential Special Envoy for Environmental Activity, Ecology and Transport, Sergey Ivanov, described ecological environment in Crimea as grave. In his opinion, construction of a waste incineration plant on the southern coast of Crimea would solve the problem.

“There is a positive world experience, in Switzerland, for example, there are such plants, and we have investors ready to build such facilities. In due time, we have determined a construction site. I suppose that the project will be realized this year,” Naraev told “Sputnik in Crimea” radio station.
