A mosque with a minaret resembling medieval watchtowers, which have been preserved in the mountains of the Russian Caucasian Republic of Ingushetia, was built near the republican airport, the press office of the head of the region told reporters on Tuesday.

The mosque is capable to house simultaneously 140 believers. The building was constructed at the expense of a benefactor residing in Surkhakhi, an Ingush village located in the Nazranovsky district.

A total of approximately 15 million of non-budgetary funds have been spent on the mosque construction and development of the adjacent territory. 600,000 rubles out of them will be allocated for decorative illumination of the structure.
