Belarus should make up for the cuts of Russian oil supplies by means of purchasing fuel from other countries, Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko, announced on Friday.

“There is no catastrophe, but reduction of oil supplies from the Russian Federation must be substituted by alternative options,” Belta news agency cities the head of the state.

Alexander Lukashenko reminded that those questions had been raised as far back as at the end of 2016, and some alternative options have been implemented.

“We tried some of them, and even practiced by delivering oil from the Black and Mediterranean seas to our oil refineries, in order to see, how it will economically work,” the President explained.
