Russia’s first plant for textile polyethylene terephthalate to be erected in summer

In summer, construction of the Russia’s first complex producing textile polyethylene terephthalate to be launched in the town of Vichug located in the Ivanov region.  




As Governor of the Ivanov region, Pavel Konkov, told reporters today, the modern integrated plant was capable to release almost 200,000 tons of synthetic fiber and yarn per year.

At present, preparatory procedures are underway, while construction of the complex itself is planned to start in summer.

A total amount of investments in the project amounts to approximately 25 billion rubles ($419 million). The enterprise is scheduled to be launched in the year 2020.

As a reference, the Ivanovo region with population exceeding 1 million is a part of the Central Federal District of Russia.
