Number of world’s billionaires grew by 60 persons last year

In 2016, the number of people around the world, whose fortune exceeds $1 billion, increased by 60 persons and now amounts to 2024, according to The Wealth Report prepared by Knight Frank.


At the same time, the number of multimillionaires, persons with fortune exceeding $30 million, has risen by 6340 people, and their total number now amounts to 193,490 persons.

As it is indicated in a forecast made by Knight Frank, over the next 10 years, in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which includes the former USSR republics, the number of multimillionaires will increase by 60%, in the USA by 30%, in Australia by 70%, in Canada by 50% and the in Europe this figure will grow by 30%.
