Experts at the American space agency, NASA, set to create technology allowing to grow vegetables on Mars. Therefore, the future colonists will be able to provide themselves with food.




In particular, special greenhouse with oxygen are expected to be built on Mars, while water will be synthesized from minerals. For the purpose of the project’s development, NASA plans to spend $15 million. Thirty professional scientists will be engaged in the creation of the technology, they will have to completed their work until 2020.

Research studies of chemists Fritz Haber and Carl Bosch will provide the basis of the new development. They won the Nobel prize in 1918 and 1931 respectively. In particular, Haber is known for his development of technology for production of ammonia by direct synthesis from nitrogen and hydrogen.
