Gazprom Neft, Russia’s fourth largest oil producer, has started construction of hydrogen production unit at oil refinery in the Omsk region, Rambler News reports with the reference to the company’s statement.
The facility will have an annual capacity of 12.3 thousand tons. According to the available information, Gazprom Neft will invest 3.4 billion rubles in the hydrogen production unit construction. The facility is scheduled to be put in operation at the end of 2017.
Operation of an independent source of hydrogen will enhance the stability of production of motor fuels of environmental class “Euro-5”, as well as will allow to increase production of light petroleum products at the Omsk oil refinery.
The project is implemented within the framework of comprehensive modernization of the Omsk refinery, which Gazprom Neft has been carried out since 2008.
