The Georgian authorities took the decision to build the government town on the outskirts of Tbilisi, where almost all ministries will be located.
This initiative was voiced by the country’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili at a government meeting on Thursday.
“A very large area of land has been allotted, where all ministries could be moved. On the one hand, in the center of the city, where there are now buildings of the ministries, a lot of office space and sites for hotels will be released. On the other hand, it will give impetus to the construction sector. Almost all ministries, except for one or two, are planned to be removed in Ortachala region (the outskirts of Tbilisi — editor’s note),” — the Prime Minister said.
