An Interdepartmental Council for Seismology and Antiseismic Construction affiliated with the Russian Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities is planned to be set up.
This initiative was announced on Thursday at a working meeting held in the Ministry that was chaired by Deputy Minister, Khamit Mavliyarov. According to him, the Council’s structure will be approved by departmental order until the end of April.
The establishment of the Council is intended to synchronize the work of departments, leading research groups and institutions on the issues of seismology and antiseismic construction. The work in this area affects the security of over 14 million people living in an earthquake-prone area of the country. This includes the territory of 17 districts and 550 municipalities.
