$7.5 billion deal reached by Krispy Kreme’s owner over US Panera Bread

JAB Holding, which is an owner of Caribou Coffee and Krispy Kreme networks, has agreed on the purchase of the U.S. bakery chain, Panera Bread, according to Reuters.




The deal, estimated at $7.5 billion, is expected to be closed as early as the third quarter of the current year. The document provides for the transfer of Panera debt obligations to JAB totaling $340 million.

In the year 2016, JAB Holding has acquired an international chain of coffee shops and confectionaries, Krispy Kreme. In 2015, it bought a brewing company Keurig Green Mountain for $13.9 billion. JAB Holding also owns Caribou Coffee and a controlling stake in Peet's Coffe & Tea.
