Egypt is willing to adopt the experience of Kazakhstan in terms of a transfer of the capital city, the Egyptian Ambassador in Astana, Haytham Kamel Ibrahim, said.
“Recently, the Minister of Housing Affairs, Utilities and Urban Development of Egypt visited Kazakhstan for the purpose of adopting Kazakhstan's experience in building this beautiful city of Astana. Egypt has recently begun construction of a new capital. Construction has been continuing for more than two years,” Haytham Kamel Ibrahim told reporters on Wednesday.
According to him, Egypt also planned to take an active part in the international exhibition 2017 EXPO and would be presented “by multiple companies.”
As a reference, in 2015, the Egyptian government introduced a project for construction of a new administrative capital of the country designed for 7 million residents located eastward of Cairo.
