Forbes magazine for the second consecutive year names Leonid Mikhelson, a co-owner of Russia's largest private gas company Novatek, the richest businessman of the country.
The magazine has estimated his fortune at $18.4 billion in 2017, what is $4 billion more than in 2016.
The second position of the ranking holds the owner of Severstal, Alexey Mordashov, whose fortune was estimated at $17.5 billion. He is followed by the owner of the Novolipetsk metallurgical combine (NLMK), Vladimir Lisin, with $16,1 billion of fortune.
Gennady Timchenko (Novatek, Stroytransgaz, Transoil, Sibur, etc.) is ranked fourth with a fortune of $16 billion, while the fifth is Alisher Usmanov, whose assets include Metalloinvest, Mail.ru Group, MegaFon, YouTV holding and CTC Media, with $15.2 billion.
