Russia endorses project of LNG terminal construction near Black Sea

The Directorate-General for State Environmental Review of Russia has approved a project of construction of a liquid natural gas terminal on Taman Peninsula located in the Krasnodar region of Russia and bordering with the Black Sea.

As Construction.RU was told by the press office of the Directorate, the Taman handling complex is situated at the entrance to the Azov Sea in the deep and ice-free part of the Russian Black Sea coast.

The terminal of liquefied natural gas is a part of the complex and was designed for the reception of propane and butane from rail transport, its temporary storage in tank farms and further delivery to gas carriers. The turnover of the existing base amounts to 750,000 tons of propane and 250,000 tons of butane per year.
