The construction of the first radioactive deposits canning station in the world will be built in the limited access town of Seversk in the Tomsk region on the basis of industrial uranium-graphite reactor EI-2, and it will be completed by the end of September.
The object is being constructed so that it would be safe for thousands of years. The work is unique, because there were no such technologies earlier.
Special radioactive deposits are the ones formed during the execution of the state program of armament and defense, peaceful usage of nuclear power or after an accident at a nuclear energy object. To remind you, uranium-graphite reactor EI-2 refined weapons-grade plutonium and heat for electric energy. It is the first reactor of this type put into operation in Russia.
