The Ford Corporation launches a new engine plant in Russia

On September 3rd, an opening ceremony to celebrate the putting in operation of a plant producing Ford automobile engines will take place in the “Alabuga” special economic area in Tatarstan. The plant has cost $274m.




As Construction.ru was told by the republican press office, work on the construction site started in 2013. Investment volume has totalled $274m. It will be the first project in Russia implemented under the agreement on industrial assembly. The compounds will be delivered from Gorkovsky and Zabolzhsky.
The level of localization of the new plant will be 60%.The main product is to be the Ti-VCT Duratec petrol engine with a volume of 1.6l and a capacity of 85.105 and 125hp. Modern close control equipment will be used in the production. These engines will be installed in the Focus, Fiesta and EcoSport models, produced in Alabuga.
