On the 5th of May the first deputy head of the government of the Ivanovo region, Dmitry Kulikov, was detained in the Russian city of Ivanovo.
According to the local media, Dmitry Kulikov had served in the regional government since 2013, and in the position of the first deputy head of the body – since September 2015.
The criminal case was initiated over receiving a grand bribe. Now Mr Kulikov has been placed under guard, the measure of restraint is being considered.
The day before the government of the Ivanovo region had been searched by the police in the criminal case against the regional Duma’s speaker, Vyacheslav Sverchkov, who was also accused of receiving a grand bribe .
As it became known, he received a 12m roubles bribe in 2014 in the position of Mayor of Ivanovo for lending 37 land plots for the construction of bus stops and shops.
