The head of the teachers’ university in the city of Omsk, Oleg Volokh, is suspected of embezzlement of public funds to the tune of 1 m roubles.
A criminal case against Oleg Volokh has been initiated under the Russian Criminal Code article on large-scale embezzlement committed using an official position, the press office of the Omsk Regional Investigative Committee told Construction.ru.
The investigation check on the case is being carried by the regional FSB department. Following an audit of the Federal Service for Fiscal and Budgetary Supervision, it turns out that, over the course of establishing a youth TV studio at the Omsk teachers’ university, the rector signed a 790,000 rouble acceptance bill with a certain company.
According to the investigators, Oleg Volokh acted for financial gain. During the interrogation, the head of the university asserted his innocence but refused to give testimony.
