Today, National Association of Construction Engineering Consultants (NACEC) and International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) held the first joint conference in the International Trade Center in Moscow.
As our special correspondent reports from the ground, the event was dedicated to the development of investment and construction engineering and practice of international contracts’ application in Russia. The experts focused on the following subjects:
– Engineering Consultancy;
– Standard international building contract;
– Development of engineering centers;
– Training of internationally recognized experts.
Among the speakers there were the FIDIC Managing Director, Enrico Vink, the NACEC President, Director for Capital Investments of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation and Director of the Industrial Center of Capital Construction, Gennady Sakharov, the First Vice-President of the Russian Union of Builders, Grigory Veretelnikov, members of the Federation Council of Russia, representatives of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities and other Russian ministries, departments and engineering companies.
As Gennady Sakharov put it, one of the key tasks of NACEC is formation of a community of highly competent, educated experts in the area of investment and construction engineering, who will be ready to promote engineering both in our country and abroad.
The main goal of the Association’s activity is the development of a modern market of engineering services in the field of industrial investment and construction engineering. Speaking about the key tasks, Gennady Sakharov mentioned formation of the legal base for investment and construction engineering; NACEC converting into a body of certification of specialists in the area of industrial investment and construction engineering and an independent expertise of industrial objects; facilitating the enhancement of engineering consultancy prestige.
Within the framework of one business-day, the seminars, workshops and meetings were held, devoted to the issues of modern engineering and construction, establishing of engineering consultancy as a separate business activity, localization of standard forms of FIDIC construction contracts in Russia, as well as organization of professional training of specialists with accordance to FIDIC rules and norms.
Leading engineers and consultants from all over the world, representatives of the business circles, financial and consulting companies, governmental bodies and public organizations, interested in the development of the international investment and construction engineering, have been invited to take part in a business-day.
