The North Atlantic Alliance intends to allocate over $70 million to the housing, hangars and training military ranges’ construction in Estonia, the former Republic of the USSR, Sputnik International reports citing local media.
This statement was made following the agreement reached at the Warsaw summit of NATO, which was held last week, to deploy 4 multinational battalions in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Poland in the Alliance’s efforts to increase its military presence in Eastern Europe.
At the same time, the government of Estonia made a decision to allocate 60 million euro on the construction of barracks for allied troops, hangars to keep military hardware, as well as training ranges in Tapa. However, this amount of money turned out to be insufficient to cover expenses, that is why additional funds from NATO are required.
